At the 2004 Great Revival in the Southern Armies

On this page, you'll find a listing of all the speakers and their topics, as well as some other events and activities that are planned. These are subject to change before the event, but the program is pretty firm!

As it turns out, all our speakers are from the South and all are members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans ...

Also note ... Tommy Leonard's Old South BBQ is offering free beverages to all who come during the event to his restaurant in period attire or uniform. Fazoli's restaurant on Goodman Road is also offering free drinks to period attired individuals during this event!!!

The Speakers:


Mr. Ron Wilson


"Keynote Address: Defending Our Heritage"

Mr. Wilson is Commander-In-Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He has brought new vigor to the SCV by virtue of his strong, aggressive, and wise leadership; taking on the tough issues. We look forward to having him set the tone for the Great Revival in 2004.


The Rt. Rev. Daniel Morse


"Why Would God Allow the South to Lose the War"

Bishop Dr. Morse serves the Reformed Episcopal Church in Texas. He was previously Rector of the Immanuel Reformed Episcopal Church in the greater Memphis area, and he is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.


The Rev. Lloyd Sprinkle


"Dixie, the Song"

The Rev. Sprinkle is the owner of Sprinkle Publications. His company publishes many important works on Theology and Southern heritage which have gone out of print. He lives with his wife Jackie in Harrisonburg, Virginia where he serves as Pastor of the Park View Baptist Church. He has been instrumental in the perpetuation of the Great Revival since its inception.


The Rev. Dr. Cecil Fayard


"Our Indian Allies"

The Rev. Dr. Fayard is a Baptist Pastor in Grenada, Mississippi. He is known for his commitment to Reformed Theology and conservative causes. He has a particular penchant for General Stand Wadie, the last Confederate General to surrender, and an American Indian.


The Rev. Dr. Charles Baker


"Our Confederate Chaplains"

Dr. Baker is a Baptist minister in Birmingham, Alabama and a former Chaplain-In-Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He also is a purveyor of books and other materials of a Theological and historical nature, many of which are extremely difficult to find elsewhere.


The Rev. Dr. H. Rondel Rumburg


"Our Noble Women of the South"

The Rev. Dr. Rumburg serves as Pastor of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is an accomplished speaker and author, responsible for a wonderful book entitled "Stonewall Jackson's Verse." Dr. Rumburg is a historian with a keen sense regarding the issues surrounding the War Between the States.


The Rev. Dr. Steve R. Woods


"The Religious War" and "139 Years of Reconstruction"

The Rev. Dr. Woods is the Pastor of the new Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Hernando, Mississippi. He is a Tennessee native, and has authored six books. His seventh project, a treatise on the superiority of the King James Bible, is underway at the present time. He is a life member of the SCV.


The Ven. Franklin Sanders


"War Crimes Against the South"

Mr. Sanders has recently been ordained as Deacon in the Reformed Episcopal Church, and serves in the ministry in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. He is widely known as a Christian speaker, investment counselor, and historian. He continues to be a strong voice in behalf of the honor of the Confederate Cause.


The Rev. Dr. Gary L. Roper


"Evangelistic Sermon to Reenactors"

Dr. Gary L. Roper, D.D., D.B.A. is a Registered Financial Planner in Southaven, Mississippi and a former Pastor and Educator. Dr. Roper has preached in Charles H. Spurgeon's Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England, sixteen states, and in fifteen foreign countries. He is a lifetime member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and has served as Chaplain. The United Daughters of the Confederacy has awarded him the coveted Jefferson Davis Gold Medal, the highest honor they bestow, for his work in preserving our Christian heritage and Southern Culture.


Pastor John Weaver


"Our Ancestors' Blood Cries From the Ground," "Our Irish Hero, Patrick Cleburne" and "What Manner of People Ought We to Be"

Pastor Weaver serves as Chaplain-In-Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He is an energetic defender of the Southern Cause, and has authored valuable and insightful works dealing with the proper relationship between the Christian and the Civil Government. Pastor Weaver will close the conference this year. He resides in Georgia.
